FOK: Priima was introduced because it is modern, easy-to-use and functional

The Pharmacy Learning Centre, FOK, is an association for education and lifelong learning, providing continuing education for pharmacy, pharmaceutical and hospital pharmacy staff. pharmaceutical industry and hospital pharmacies. FOK offers online training, webinars, face-to-face training as well as customised courses for the customer.

Priima selected through a competitive tender

FOK wanted a clear, easy-to-use, functional and modern learning platform. The platform had to enable the development of e-learning content to be of high pedagogical quality and capable of implementing new technologies. Other necessary features included an automated certification function and customer management that was automated as far as possible.

Based on these considerations, the FOK decided to launch a call for tenders for learning environments in order to assess their supply on the market. As the tendering process progressed, the FOK selected three representatives to whom they presented their main requirements for the learning environment. The FOK built the same customer service training on three different platforms and distributed the training to three pilot group members. Based on the feedback, Priima received the highest ratings.


Priima’s scalability and LTI tools get praises

FOK ended up choosing Priima, as their customers considered it a clear and user-friendly LMS. The proofing function and the possibility to integrate the two systems were threshold issues for FOK, and these were built in Priima before the beginning of 2019. The good experience with Saarni Learning’s customer support and the familiar operating philosophy behind the software also contributed to FOK’s decision. “We have a shared history with Saarni Learning’s customer support and have built a really trusting relationship. We have always received help and together we have been able to develop our operations over the years,” says Soile Tähtinen, Training Manager at FOK.

For FOK, the most important features of Priima are also its scalability and, above all, the fact that the LTI tool can be used to bring, for example, interactive videos to training sessions. They are also very happy with the automation of customer management, which has saved them hundreds of man-hours.

FOK rebuilt all its training courses in Optima into Priima. They prepared for this in advance by acquiring the video service Vimeo, where they uploaded the training lecture videos from Optima. Vimeo made it easy to set up the videos in their own locations in Priima. The tasks had to be rewritten, but that too was done quickly. The FOK started sharing its online training courses on Priima at the beginning of 2019. “Everything has gone better than we even dared to expect. There have been no problems, everything works,” says Soile.

Inspiring training content with new technology

“At Priima, we organise insightful online training courses that progress in a learning cycle. Priima provides a good opportunity to do this by building page after page of engaging, practical and problem-based learning content,” says Soile.
FOK creates learning excitement with new technology in Priima: animated characters, an animated online tutor and interactive videos are their latest methods. Priima has been well received by end-users, and feedback has improved slightly on training courses that FOK moved to Priima.

In the future, the FOK will develop training content ahead of technology. Multimodal learning will also be emphasised in the near future. In addition, Priima may also be used more in the future to support the guidance of learning at short notice.
