Aurevia’s (formerly Labquality) training sales grow with Priima learning platform

Providing quality assessments, consultancy services, clinical trials, audits, certifications and training. Labquality helps its customers to ensure the quality of their skills and know-how, including through online courses. Priima learning system replaced the previous training platform to facilitate course management, expand access and boost training sales internationally.

Labquality employs 120 people in Finland, Germany and Poland, and sells its expertise to customers in over 60 countries. Through Labquality’s services and training, healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical manufacturers and health technology companies maintain and validate their skills to ensure the quality of their work, for example in studies on patients or medical devices.

One of the tools used to ensure competence is the use of online courses, which were difficult to manage on the training platform previously used by Labquality: for example, changes to course materials had to be paid for by the service provider and there were many manual steps in the enrolment process.

“We couldn’t serve our customers as well as we wanted to,” recalls Miia Kämppi , Labquality’s Training Manager.

Improved training management and customer service with the new learning system

In spring 2020, Labquality decided to outsource the management of its training courses through Priima. In September 2021, the first worm science courses were transferred to the new platform and the Priima learning environment was renamed Labquality Pro, for which Kämppi Labquality is the global lead user.

“We worked closely with Saarni Learning from the very beginning: we received support for the project plan and system implementation, and our own contact person was always available for help,” Kämppi says.

Training courses can now be planned, created and updated even on a daily basis, and enrolment and reporting have become easier. It is also easy to tailor courses to customer needs. “We are able to serve our customers much better than before,” says Kämppi.

New business opportunities have been found with the Priima online course platform

After autumn 2021, the number of Labquality Pro users will have doubled. In addition to the training of guest researchers, the platform supports the sale of other services and products.

Labquality Pro also distributes event recordings, certificates, feedback forms and other event content, such as the Labquality Days congress, to more than 1 300 participants.

“Labquality Pro is now a support platform for all types of training. For example, we distribute online training tasks, materials, information and instructions through it. We have been able to try things we never dreamed of and even found new business opportunities,” says Kämppi.

Labquality Pro, praised by customers as easy to use, also serves as a marketing tool. “Quite often the first contact with us is through training or an online course. When a person finds that we have good content and the learning environment works like a charm, it inspires them to seek out our other services,” says Kämppi.

Language support, scalability and ease of use support international growth

Courses are distributed in language versions to all countries where there are customers. Finnish, German, Polish and English are the main languages of the system. There is also content in Russian, French and Estonian. “We are now releasing the first English-language online course for global sales, and in the future we will also sell Spanish and Swedish-language courses,” says Kämppi.

“As a platform supplier, we want to develop the functions so that the whole is as functional as possible for both Labquality and their customers,” says Niko Hummastenniemi, technical project manager of Saarni Learning’s product development and product owner of Priima.”

The development list includes features such as language support and interactivity, different types of tasks, and AI-assisted test creation. In the future, internal learning paths, such as inductions, may also be introduced on the platform. “We are dreaming of being able to share material with our customers without registration, and to be able to use different integrations,” says Kämppi.

Agile development of Priima learning platform to meet customer needs receives praise from Labquality

Kämppi praises the speed of development and Saarni Learning for listening to ideas for new functions and features. Kämppi also exchanges ideas with other customers to learn how to use the system in a more versatile way.

“For example, when we need a new sales path or new legislative requirements, we work together to implement processes and functionality into the system. Our smallest requests can be implemented within a week of the request,” says Kämppi.

Hummastenniemi, the customer contact person, is praised by Kämp for her friendliness and accuracy. “Even though we are an old customer, Niko takes good care of us: he asks about our new needs and goes through where our previous requests are going. We hope to continue working together with the same drive going forward!” Kämppi sums up.
