A-Insinieure manages internal training and maintains the skills required for certification through Priima

A-Insinore is one of Finland’s most respected construction and industrial consultancies. The company employs 1 400 experts in dozens of business units across the country. To support its multidisciplinary project services and growth, the company needed a solution that would unify internal training and induction. The Priima learning environment provided the solution.

One platform enables the development of training

Before Priima, A-Insinöö had several separate systems and ways of organising internal training. This made it cumbersome to coordinate training and verify compliance.

– We had several different ways of delivering staff training. This was inefficient and made training management complex. We wanted a single platform that would bring clarity and consistency to internal training and its development,” says HRD Manager Heidi Vaittinen. She is responsible for developing the Group’s competencies, leadership, employee experience and organisational culture.

The choice was guided by the obligations of the certificates

After defining their needs and looking at different service providers, A-Insinieure decided on Priima. The decision was based on ease of use, cost-effectiveness and flexible integration options.

– Priima met our needs very well. We work as experts on demanding customer projects and operate in accordance with high quality, environmental and security systems. Through training, we ensure that the skills of our staff throughout the organisation are at the level required to deliver the promises made to our customers and the certified operating systems. With Priima, we can also provide the same training to our subcontractors,” says Risto Tulenheimo, Director of Information Management, responsible for A-Insinieure’s day-to-day IT services and security.

Among other things, A-Insinöörit ensures cybersecurity of its operations in accordance with the requirements of the international ISO 27001 security certificate. A key role is played by the up-to-date information security skills of the staff and continuously updated information security training. External audits demonstrate that training has been completed and that staff competencies are at the level required by the certifications.

Thanks to Priima, A-Insinieure is able to monitor the coverage of the training and, if necessary, to verify it transparently to its customers.

Smooth deployment accelerated progress

The roll-out of Priima progressed rapidly, and within three months the first courses, such as security training and responsibility training, were ready for use.

– The roll-out went smoothly and the first courses were live by the beginning of the year. The project was an excellent example of how to effectively implement the new system,” says Vaittinen.

The first trainings were built for the whole company, but soon the business units and support services started to produce the content themselves.

Cooperation is also perceived as dynamic from the provider’s point of view.

The roll-out proceeded in clear steps and with good interaction, creating a strong basis for continuous service and joint development. Priima has been in effective use from the beginning, and it has been great to see how A-Insinöörit has involved more and more experts in the production of learning content,” says Henna-Riikka Ahvenjärvi, Account Manager at Saarni Learning.

A centralised platform to strengthen learning and trust

Thanks to Priima, all key training and induction courses are now available in a single environment. This makes it easier to train new employees, train subcontractors and manage mandatory training for all employees. Verification of performance is simple and reporting is transparent.

– Training content is now easy to find and complete. We have received positive feedback on the courses, and staff feel that the offer is of high quality and up-to-date,” says Vaittinen.

Also from the content providers’ perspective, the Priima learning platform tools have been perceived as easy to use, and pedagogical support has been provided in-house. This has encouraged more experts to create their own online courses.

Looking to the future

Promoting individual growth paths and supporting good chaperone work are important building blocks in the development of competences at A-Insinööre. The aim is to be the best place to work for built environment specialists in the industry.

In the future, the aim is also to use Priima to develop induction pathways.

– Priima has brought us consistency and transparency in our training. The cooperation with Saarni Learning has been flexible and solution-oriented. We have been able to put forward our development proposals directly and our wishes have been listened to,” says Vaittinen.
